One the great pleasures of buying a new car is the scent. Like many other Nashville area residents, we love how a new car smells when we get into it. At SERVPRO of Belle Meade / West Nashville, many company clients want to discover how to keep that new car smell each time they start to drive. Fortunately, we've found there are a lot of ways to help keep any car smelling wonderful for as long as you own it. Doing so can help make it even more fun to drive and even help increase the retail value of the car should you decide to sell it later. Keeping the car's interior in good shape is important as is making sure that you use odor removal services should the smell you like go away.
Keep the Air Fresh
If you, like us, do a lot of driving, you want to keep the air in your car as fresh as possible. Fresh air helps you concentrate on the road at all times. It also helps your passengers feel better. On a hot Nashville day, fresh air in your car can be particularly important so you don't get overheated or dehydrated. An air freshener can also help. Look for air fresheners that have new car scent to them.
Clean Often
Once you buy a new car, you get busy. Sometimes, you forget to clean it. In that case, it can help to clean at least once a week. Take some time early in the morning and look closely at the car. It's a very good idea to remove any papers from the dashboard if you don't need them as well as removing any unwanted items from the truck. Periodic cleaning helps our clients maintain that new car smell much longer. They also find it helps to vacuum the interior of the car to get rid of any particles of food that may have fallen to the floor when they are not looking.
Remove any Odors
Remove any odors as soon as possible can help make sure the new car still smells good. Many clients find periodic deodorization is ideal. Lots of things can cause odors in the car. For example, rain can get inside the car and create a different smell. Try to get rid of any odor as soon as you notice it.
If your DIY efforts are not successful, give us a call and we will handle your deodorization needs!
