SERVPRO of Belle Meade would like to offer Nashville car owners, a few tips about maintaining their vehicle. Certainly, the average driver makes a substantial investment in their vehicle and would like to preserve its beauty for a long time. In addition, a well-maintained vehicle has a higher resale value. All drivers should take this into consideration. Maintaining and cleaning the vehicle is all a part of ownership. However, there is a right way and a wrong way to clean a vehicle. In this piece are 3 great car cleaning techniques that will keep your car well maintained, well into the future.
- Window Cleaning
Cleaning the windows and windshield on a vehicle is considered an easy task. Simply grab a window cleaner and shine the windows. However, it's important to realize that some cleansers might harm the windows and windshield. Here is a tip. Avoid any ammonia based window cleaners. Ammonia based cleaners will damage your tinted windows. The ammonia based cleaners will also ruin leather, vinyl, and the rubber inside of your vehicle. Select a no ammonia based cleaner. Roll windows down an inch or two. Spray cleaner generously on the window. Wipe and go over the top of the window. Roll up and clean the bottom edge.
- Inside
It's important to keep the inside of your vehicle clean too. A vacuum with attachments is the best for keeping the inside of the vehicle clean. Vacuum the interior with a crevice tool. Use this tool on the seats, around the dashboard, on the doors, and the floors. Forget about purchasing overpriced cleansers for upholstery. Instead, apply a mild solution of soapy, warm water to stains and rinse to remove any remaining soapy residue.
- Outside
Avoid washing your vehicle in the sun because this will add spots to the vehicle and ruin the finish. Instead, wash the vehicle in the shade. Start the process by rinsing off the car for a few minutes to remove grime and dirt from the road. Use your favorite exterior cleaner to complete the process. Rinse off rims and tires, let dry naturally. Use a commercial cleaner to remove any tough spots on the tires or rims.
